Huntress, founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, is a remote-first cybersecurity company making enterprise-grade security accessible to businesses of all sizes. The company operates a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC) and now secures over 5 million endpoints and 11 million identities worldwide.
As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will own the design, enhancement, and operation of Huntress's cloud infrastructure across multi-region and multi-cloud environments. This is a high-impact individual contributor role reporting to the Engineering Manager, focused on building resilience, reliability, and scalability into the core platform that powers the security operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and enhance cloud infrastructure across multi-region and multi-cloud environments to improve service reliability, cost efficiency, and capacity failover capabilities
- Author custom Kubernetes tools, controllers, and infrastructure code using Terraform, Go, Python, or Ruby
- Support and extend observability infrastructure using Datadog to provide deep visibility into system health and platform performance
- Diagnose and fix complex production issues, performance bottlenecks, and resource constraints across cloud environments
- Collaborate across engineering teams to guide software architecture choices and eliminate infrastructure pain points
You will operate with autonomy and ownership—spotting platform bottlenecks, proposing concrete solutions, and staying unshakeable under system chaos. The role involves variety: one week authoring custom Kubernetes admission controllers, the next tackling multi-region capacity failover automation or tracking down memory leaks in production pods. AI coding agents are part of how this team works, and you will be expected to use them to move faster without compromising production quality standards.
You will build a strong reputation across the engineering organization as a trusted technical partner who delivers measurable outcomes and drives high-impact roadmap initiatives.
**Requirements:**
- 7+ years of experience managing Linux-based cloud infrastructure
- Deep expertise in multi-region or multi-cloud resilience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience orchestrating production workloads in Kubernetes
- Strong coding proficiency in Go, Ruby, or Python, with a mindset focused on building scalable infrastructure tools
- Proven track record operating enterprise observability tools like Datadog to diagnose and resolve performance issues
- Hands-on experience with AI coding agents, with sound judgment about where their output needs verification
- Experience managing automated infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools
- Clear communication style with a track record of collaborating across engineering teams to solve complex platform problems
