Salary: USD 160,000 - 190,000 / annual
Platform9 is seeking a Staff Networking Engineer to join the team working on cloud-native products and services for the Kubernetes ecosystem. You will contribute to the development of Platform9's flagship Private Cloud Director product, which simplifies enterprise private clouds by turning existing hardware into full-featured, future-ready infrastructure.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the development of cloud-native products and services for the Kubernetes product ecosystem
- Support cloud infrastructure deployments using Platform9 products, including troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Learn and collaborate with the team to design and implement the product roadmap
- Work with a globally distributed, inclusive team backed by prominent investors
Platform9 serves enterprises including Cloudera, EBSCO, Juniper Networks, and Rackspace, with over 30,000 nodes in production. The company is focused on vendor independence, operational consistency, and customer obsession.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and cloud-native technologies, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment. You will be a team player with a strong sense of ownership and passion for data-driven work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
- 6-15 years of experience in a software development role
- Excellent programming skills in a major programming language (Python or Golang preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
- Strong knowledge and exposure in networking protocols (desirable)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Kubernetes (plus)
- Prior experience with OpenStack/DevStack (plus)
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work in dynamic environment
