As a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer in the Spacecraft Hardware department, you will be responsible for ensuring engineering solutions meet stringent aerospace quality requirements in structural integrity, reliability, and cost-effective manufacturing. You will be a key contributor to ICEYE's spacecraft engineering community, helping build and expand the world's leading SAR satellite constellation. Your day-to-day responsibilities include: - Lead and contribute to trade studies, design reviews (PDR/CDR), and verification and production qualification documentation (PRR/ERR) - Ensure smooth, seamless, and on-time product delivery from concept to qualification - Contribute to continuous improvements of current products - Collaborate with suppliers, supply chain, AIT engineering, and QA to ensure compliance with launch and on-orbit environments - Work with system and subsystem engineers to define requirements for new products - Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams during product integration and build to validate solutions meet requirements - Support issue resolution and engage in broader spacecraft mechanical design tasks as needed You will report to the Mechanical Design Engineering Team Lead and work in a hybrid/office model in Espoo, Finland. The role is permanent and subject to applicable security screening. REQUIREMENTS: Must haves: - Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field - Experience in aerospace, automotive, or related industries - Experience designing satellite structures, subsystems, or similar complex electromechanical systems - Understanding of mechanical stress, vibration, and thermal effects on space structures and mechanisms - Ability to work cross-functionally with systems, electrical, and manufacturing teams - Familiarity with industry standards such as ECSS, NASA, MIL - Strong team working, analytical, documentation, and communication skills - Ability to make multi-team and organizational impact Nice to haves: - Experience with PLM/PDM systems for configuration control - Hands-on experience with mechanical systems assembly, integration, and testing - Prior experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft environments (SpaceX, Rocket Lab, ESA, etc.)
