Graphcore is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Product Engineer to lead manufacturing strategy and execution for complex AI infrastructure hardware products. In this role, you will bridge design, test, quality, and supply chain functions to ensure products are manufacturable, resilient, and ready for volume production. You will take ownership of new product introduction (NPI) development and volume manufacturing across Graphcore's hardware portfolio. Key responsibilities include providing design-for-manufacturability (DfM) feedback to improve PCB and system designs before production, working closely with contract manufacturers (particularly in Taiwan), driving yield improvement initiatives, analyzing production data, and resolving complex manufacturing issues. You will travel to Taiwan regularly to engage with foundry, package assembly, and PCBA partners, shaping next-generation manufacturing technologies. You will join the Manufacturing and Technology Process team within Operations, which operates across Bristol, Cambridge, and Taiwan. The team emphasizes clear ownership, supplier engagement, and rapid feedback loops into design teams. Success in this role requires practical engineering judgment, data-driven decision-making, and strong cross-regional collaboration. The culture values evidence-based engineering, personal accountability for manufacturing performance, and early escalation of manufacturability or yield concerns. You will speak up when issues need attention and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain. **Requirements:** - Strong fault diagnosis, problem-solving, and failure analysis skills (ICT to SMT debug) - Thorough understanding of automated surface mount assembly processes and manufacturing methodologies - Working knowledge of mechanical design and system build (L10 level), ideally for high-performance computing (HPC) products - Ability to connect silicon, package, and PCB interactions into clear DfM feedback - Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP, SQL, Python) - Experience with continuous improvement methods, including statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) - Strong interpersonal skills for supplier-facing, cross-functional, and cross-regional engineering work - Extensive experience in a similar manufacturing-facing role The company values transferable skills and diverse experiences; candidates meeting most essential criteria are encouraged to apply.
