Anduril Industries is a defense technology company building AI-powered military systems. The Maritime Digital Production (MDP) team develops the full technology stack powering Anduril's shipbuilding factories, including data infrastructure, manufacturing execution systems (ArsenalOS), scheduling engines, and AI systems that eliminate manual work from the shop floor and business operations.
As a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer on the ArsenalOS Deployment initiative, you will architect and build full-stack web applications that power daily planning, work assignment, and team-lead dashboards on the factory floor. You will own maritime-specific manufacturing software requirements end-to-end, including the build-vs-extend decision for each capability. Your scope extends across shop-floor execution (scheduling in the MES) and adjacent manufacturing capabilities that Maritime needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building full-stack web applications for production planning, work assignment, and operational dashboards driving real-time factory execution
- Developing offline-capable, mobile-friendly interfaces for factory operators in network-constrained environments
- Partnering with manufacturing engineers and factory operators to translate production workflows into software requirements
- Designing and implementing robust offline-first architectures using service workers, local storage, and background sync
- Building responsive, touch-optimized mobile interfaces for tablets and devices in harsh manufacturing environments (gloves, low light, vibration)
- Architecting data synchronization strategies with conflict resolution and data integrity between edge devices and backend systems
- Deploying and operating systems in factory environments, including edge compute clusters and OT networks
- Leveraging AI tooling in development workflows and contributing to team engineering practices
- Joining an on-call rotation supporting production factory systems
- Collaborating cross-functionally with backend engineers, data engineers, factory systems teams, and operations
- Setting technical direction and mentoring junior engineers on resilient, user-centered manufacturing software
The role operates at the boundary between Operational Technology and Information Technology, where factory-floor machines, edge compute, and OT networks meet enterprise platforms and cloud infrastructure. MDP is scaling from a founding team to 70+ engineers across multiple U.S. sites. You will be joining early, working on hard problems with real operational stakes, and shaping how manufacturing software is built at Anduril.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering roles building production systems, ideally in fast-paced environments
- Deep expertise in full-stack web development with demonstrated mastery of both frontend and backend systems
- Strong technical fluency in modern software architectures, APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD, and cloud or edge infrastructure
- Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and modern web frameworks
- Experience building offline-capable web applications using service workers, IndexedDB, local storage, and PWA patterns
- Experience building systems that operate reliably under real-world operational constraints (high availability, low latency, constrained environments)
- Experience with large enterprise applications and platforms with high availability requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- U.S. Person status required (position requires access to export-controlled data)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or OT-adjacent domains (MES, SCADA, PLC integration, factory automation, IoT)
- Hands-on experience building mobile-first or offline-capable web applications for network-constrained, industrial, or field environments
- Experience with data synchronization patterns, conflict resolution strategies, and eventual consistency models
- Familiarity with frontier AI tooling and AI coding assistants
- Experience in hyper-growth startup-like environments balancing speed, ambiguity, and long-term system health
- Familiarity with enterprise systems (ERP, MES, WMS, manufacturing planning)
- Experience designing UX/UI for non-desk workers, including touch-optimized, rugged device interfaces
- Hands-on exposure to assembly lines or production environments
- Understanding of edge computing architectures and deployment patterns for factory floor applications
- Experience with GraphQL, real-time data subscriptions, or WebSocket-based architectures
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
