Salary: USD 158,000 - 248,000 / annual

You will join the Advisor Experience team as a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer and Technical Lead. This team builds tools for financial advisors to grow and sustain their business, overseeing bespoke products and advisor-focused capabilities across the Addepar platform.
In this role, you will be the primary technical anchor for new capabilities including the Secure Message Center—a compliant messaging experience built into Addepar's client portal enabling advisors and clients to communicate directly within the platform. You will partner with Engineering Leadership and Product Management to build modern, scalable architecture from the ground up. Beyond system design, you will act as an engineering multiplier: setting technical standards, mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, and collaborating with senior engineers and AI specialists to deliver high-impact advisor tools.
Key responsibilities include architecting and implementing full-stack solutions to solve complex problems; writing well-designed, efficient, and maintainable code that is scalable across frontend and backend systems; shaping technical direction by establishing engineering standards and driving design reviews; mentoring and coaching other engineers to foster professional growth; contributing to inclusive, high-performing team culture; and collaborating across time zones with product managers, designers, and engineers to align on priorities and deliver business outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with Staff level or above experience preferred
- Strong proficiency across the full stack, including modern frontend frameworks (Svelte, React, Vue) and server-side languages such as Java
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining complex distributed systems and scalable web applications in production
- Strong understanding of backend architecture, API design, microservices, and server-side integration patterns
- Experience building in greenfield spaces and creating 0-1 products
- Track record of mentoring other engineers, setting high bars for code quality, and building inclusive, growth-oriented engineering culture
- Demonstrable knowledge of using AI in a professional engineering environment
- Background or interest in wealth management, fintech, or financial advisor workflows
