Salary: CAD 190,000 - 230,000 / annual

The engineering team comprises talented engineers from UC Berkeley, Cornell, SJTU, Cambridge, NUS, and prior experience at companies like Tencent, Alibaba, Amazon, and ByteDance. You will join a team focused on building and innovating cloud technology solutions that empower local businesses and serve the deskless workforce.
In this hybrid role (2 days per week in-office: Tuesdays and Thursdays), you will work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and peer engineers to deliver well-scoped product features. You will communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Engineering, Product, GTM, and Customer Success teams. You will advocate for and practice test-driven development (TDD) to ensure delivery of high-quality, reliable software. Your technical expertise will be complemented by strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Key responsibilities include full-stack application development, designing and building scalable systems, collaborating on distributed system architecture, and maintaining a commitment to quality through CI/CD practices and testing.
**Requirements:**
- 8 to 12+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency in one or more of: Python, Java, PHP, or JavaScript, with experience developing full-stack, high-performance, and high-availability applications
- Strong foundation in programming principles and design patterns
- Experience building scalable systems with test-driven CI/CD commitment to quality software development
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and comprehensive understanding of SQL vs. NoSQL decision-making
- Knowledge of caching mechanisms such as Redis or Memcached
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
- Demonstrated experience designing distributed systems with a holistic perspective
- Commitment to keeping up with latest technological trends and continuously improving productivity
**Nice to Have:**
- Experience with NextJS or other front-end technologies
