Salary: USD 169,150 - 233,000 / annual
Oura is seeking a highly experienced Staff Full Stack Engineer to join the Human Care Ecosystem Team, which is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Oura's partnership integrations, healthcare, and B2B products. The Oura Ring is an award-winning wearable device that helps millions of users understand their readiness, activity, and sleep quality through connected app experiences.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership for full stack development, guide technology and design choices, and mentor other full stack developers. You'll work on experiences that impact hundreds of thousands of people globally, expanding Oura's use cases into new markets through partnerships, healthcare, and B2B initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide technical leadership and mentor full stack developers on the team
- Partner with product managers and designers to deliver accessible, responsive, and user-friendly experiences
- Take end-to-end ownership of solutions from design through production, monitoring, and documentation
- Shape best practices across the engineering lifecycle
- Apply strong software engineering expertise to solve ambiguous problems and improve architecture
- Enable the platform to scale to new product capabilities
- Ensure platform compliance with security, data privacy, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate effectively in a globally distributed, diverse team
The team works with TypeScript, React, React Query, Python, AWS (EKS, CDK, Lambdas, RDS, DynamoDB), PostgreSQL, GitHub Actions, and Sentry.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of practical full-stack web development work experience
- Extensive experience with TypeScript and modern client-side frameworks such as React
- Python experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to write highly maintainable, extensible, well-tested, and easy-to-understand code
- Experience architecting, building, and deploying scalable, performant web services in production on AWS or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of architectural patterns and best practices
- Pragmatic entrepreneurial attitude and delivery-focused mindset
- Understanding of tradeoffs between short-term goals and long-term tech debt
- Team-oriented mindset and comfort working in diverse, distributed environments
