As Staff Engineer - Cybersecurity Architect, you will own the creation and evolution of Back Market's enterprise cybersecurity architecture, translating cyber and IT strategy into a coherent, organization-wide secure architectural framework. You will report into the Platform Department, which spans IT, GRC, SecOps, and related functions (~30 people).
Key responsibilities include:
**Architecture & Strategy:**
- Analyze business needs from an architectural perspective and translate them into performant ICT solutions
- Develop, implement, monitor, and adjust enterprise architecture to ensure coherence across projects and developments
- Create secure architecture patterns for complex, large-scale technology environments in collaboration with stakeholders
- Identify and specify implementation modalities for both existing and new technologies
- Present recommendations and translate them into executable roadmaps
**Security Integration & Risk Management:**
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security best practices into design and implementation phases
- Translate high-level security policies from the GRC team into detailed technical solutions
- Ensure all new and existing IT projects comply with latest security standards and practices
- Design and recommend security standards, architecture principles, and technical requirements
- Conduct technical risk assessments and provide actionable mitigations aligned with security standards and business objectives
**Cross-Functional Leadership:**
- Serve as a critical point of contact between business and IT on ICT architecture matters
- Provide guidance on enterprise architecture and systems processing across data, application, integration, security, and technology domains
- Advise management on complex ICT issues to enable informed decision-making
- Facilitate and lead substantive decision-making within project teams, defining validation mechanisms
- Reconcile conflicting requirements by identifying appropriate technological solutions
- Promote continuous improvement and development of IT methodologies
- Stay abreast of IT architecture and technology developments, assessing their applicability and contributing to future-oriented frameworks
**Requirements:**
- Minimum 10 years of experience in security and technology with previous enterprise security architecture experience
- In-depth knowledge of GCP cloud
- Security by design, Zero Trust, and Defense in Depth principles
- AI security expertise (MCP, Claude, Opencode, etc.)
- Security of macOS endpoints
- Expertise in IAM systems and standards (Okta)
- Familiarity with compliance requirements and industry standards (GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST frameworks)
- Strong analytical capabilities to understand complex business models and translate them into secure architectural designs
- Excellent communication skills that bring clarity and transparency to technical complexity
- Proven ability to inspire colleagues and drive organizational adoption of architectural principles
- Understanding of technical implementation aspects to serve as an effective liaison with engineering teams
- Commitment to documentation and communication to ensure organization-wide architecture support
