The role involves working in manufacturing environments, including extended time in low-humidity dry rooms, wearing personal protective equipment, and traveling to supplier facilities for installation and testing.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing experience with direct involvement in cylindrical cell equipment design and line bring-up (preferably state-of-the-art architectures like tabless/single-tab connections and aluminum cans)
- Strong engineering fundamentals with ability to leverage mechanical knowledge and experience to inform design choices
- Demonstrated project management skills including schedule management, priority definition, and cross-functional coordination with internal teams and external vendors
- Experience incorporating safety, automation, data collection best practices, and regulatory requirements into equipment specifications
- Strong communication and documentation skills with track record of building accessible, durable knowledge bases
- Minimum 12 years related experience with Bachelor's in engineering or physical science; OR 8 years with Master's degree; OR PhD with 5 years experience; OR equivalent experience
