As Staff DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable, secure, highly available AWS infrastructure for critical systems with automation at the center. You'll partner with developers on architecture decisions to improve reliability, performance, scalability, and security of servers and applications. Key responsibilities include:
• Design and build scalable AWS infrastructure with a focus on automation, uptime, and reliability
• Partner with developers on architecture decisions to improve system reliability, performance, scalability, and security
• Tackle vulnerabilities early and raise cybersecurity readiness across the platform
• Serve as last line of support for 24/7 customer-dependent services; troubleshoot on-call incidents, participate in weekly on-call rotation, and lead Root Cause Analysis
• Build tools and automation for other engineers; mentor DevOps engineers and teams across the company
• Integrate AI into DevOps and SRE workflows as the company redesigns how every role works with AI

**Requirements:**
• 7+ years in an Ops, DevOps, or SRE role with real system design and architecture experience
• Hands-on AWS experience including IAM, VPC, EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail; multi-account management, permissions structures, and SSO
• Engineer-level knowledge of networking and security; solid grasp of load balancing fundamentals
• Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform, working as part of a multi-user infrastructure team
• Experience with CI/CD and build/deploy automation tooling (GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, GitOps)
• Experience running enterprise monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or DataDog
• Track record of resolving complex on-call incidents and leading RCAs that lead to lasting fixes
• Comfort reading Java, Ruby, Bash/Zsh, HCL, Python, and JavaScript
• Service reliability mindset; ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Nice-to-have:**
• Layer 7 load balancing experience
• Container orchestration experience (ECS/EKS)
• Chef or Puppet configuration management experience
• SOC2 compliance experience
• Familiarity with Duetto's stack: Java, Python, NoSQL, MongoDB, Postgres, React, Terraform/Terragrunt, Chef, DataDog, Prometheus
