Linktree is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join the Office of the Founders. In this role, you will be the analytical partner to executive leadership, translating business strategy into quantifiable forecasts and models that guide company direction. You'll work on high-impact, unowned questions—some weeks building driver-based revenue models, other weeks delivering defensible answers to novel strategic questions within 48 hours.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with founders and executives to identify opportunities, frame critical questions, and recommend strategic focus areas
- Assessing strategic investments and partnerships, quantifying trade-offs, and recommending what to pursue, test, scale, or stop
- Defining success metrics with Finance and functional leaders, holding teams accountable to outcomes, and recommending course corrections
- Building and owning datasets and models that quantify company performance rather than waiting for other teams
- Influencing executive and board decisions through clear recommendations and constructive challenge, with transparent assumptions and evidence limitations
- Raising the analytical bar across the company by evangelizing best practices in metrics, forecasting, and statistical rigor
You will work 3 days per week from the Melbourne or Sydney office and 2 days per week remotely. Linktree serves 70+ million creators and billions of visitors globally, partnering with major platforms (TikTok, Snap, YouTube, Spotify) and brands (Adidas, Nike, Amazon, Sephora).
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Data Scientist or in a comparable analytical role at a high-growth technology company
- Proven track record of shaping strategic direction with founders and executives, with specific examples of decisions your analysis changed
- Experience building driver-based forecasts or operating models and accountability for their accuracy
- Hands-on proficiency with SQL and modern analytics stack; comfortable building your own pipelines and datasets
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, or related discipline
- Ability to hold a clear point of view with senior stakeholders and adjust when data warrants
- Comfort thriving in ambiguity and being the first person to work on novel questions
- Ability to work from Melbourne or Sydney office 3 days per week
