You'll join the Data team as a Staff Data Engineer, setting technical direction for systems powering analytics, data science, and operational decision-making across the company. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll shape architecture, mentor engineers, and establish engineering standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the Data Platform Engineering architecture, setting technical direction for core data systems and leading design decisions
- Build and operate trusted data pipelines with strong testing, logging, alerting, and observability
- Evolve the orchestration platform, managing workflow execution, worker infrastructure, and operational reliability
- Improve BigQuery environment performance, cost efficiency, permissions, and governance
- Build cloud services and infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- Establish engineering standards for version control, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and operational practices
- Partner across analytics, data science, engineering, and business teams to clarify requirements and communicate tradeoffs
- Support data science and AI workflows, preparing model-ready datasets and integrating LLM workflows into production
- Mentor data engineers through code review, pairing, design feedback, and coaching
You'll work across the modern data stack, software and platform engineering, and emerging AI workflows. The role requires close collaboration with analytics engineers, analysts, data scientists, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
