Salary: USD 225,000 - 275,000 / annual

The company is focused on creating affordable, efficient vehicles that replace local car and truck miles with more sustainable alternatives. As a Staff Control Platform and Verification Engineer, you will serve as the developer infrastructure and test support engineer for the Controls team. You will define, build, and execute comprehensive test strategies spanning software, hardware, and simulation environments—including MIL (Model-in-the-Loop), SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and vehicle tests. You will own the CI/CD pipelines and test frameworks that controls engineers depend on daily. Key responsibilities include: - Defining comprehensive test strategies and architectures for new features and systems - Translating requirements and system design into detailed test plans, test cases, and automation scripts - Reading and reasoning about Simulink models, Stateflow charts, and their generated or handwritten C code to design meaningful tests - Architecting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar) for controls software, including model builds, code generation, static analysis, and automated test execution - Supporting automated toolchains to generate, compile, and deploy Simulink/MATLAB code across multiple targets, including HIL lab hardware - Building and maintaining test automation frameworks (Python, scripting, MATLAB/Simulink, CAPL) and keeping them healthy as the codebase evolves - Executing MIL/SIL/HIL testing and analyzing logs, telemetry, and vehicle CAN network data - Acting as developer infrastructure support for the controls team, unblocking engineers on tooling, build, and test-infrastructure issues - Collaborating across software, firmware, systems, and vehicle teams to resolve integration issues - Validating embedded systems and propulsion control modules, performing defect triage, and conducting system root-cause analysis Requirements: - Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering field - 5+ years of experience in embedded/automotive test engineering or developer infrastructure roles - Ability to read and understand Simulink models, Stateflow charts, and C code (generated or handwritten) - Strong experience with MIL/SIL/HIL/vehicle testing - Hands-on experience architecting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or similar) - Test automation and scripting expertise (MATLAB, Python, CAPL, Shell) and experience maintaining test frameworks over time - Demonstrated experience with vehicle CAN networks, plus LIN and UDS protocols - Experience with debugging tools, telemetry analysis, and issue triage - Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
