In this Staff Backend Engineer role, you will own core product functionality at the heart of Endor's AppSec platform. You'll design and deliver features that secure source code end-to-end, from IDE to deployment, while working on a state-of-the-art distributed system with a sophisticated monorepo architecture. Key responsibilities include:
- Owning core functionality and designing features for AI-driven code security solutions
- Developing and optimizing vital core services like the API Gateway and API servers
- Enhancing the dynamic cloud scan platform to support growing build and tool chain requirements
- Designing and building top-tier tools leveraged across all teams at Endor
- Applying observability best practices to ensure exceptional reliability and availability
- Guiding architectural decisions and communicating trade-offs to align teams
You'll work in a fast-paced environment where you embrace shifting requirements and find creative solutions to unfamiliar problems. The role emphasizes autonomy, impact across the organization, and collaboration with a team that thinks big, starts small, and learns fast.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Proven expertise in Golang programming, with deep focus on microservices and distributed architecture
- Familiarity with build tools and tool chains (Maven, pip, npm)
- Experience with scalable distributed systems, including microservices, domain-driven design, load balancing, and scaling strategies
- Strong communication skills to discuss architectural trade-offs and guide teams
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with shifting requirements
- Proficiency with AI and automated code generation tools
**Preferred Skills:**
- Expertise in secure software design principles (certificates, OAuth2/OIDC, secure changes)
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Lambda functions, or cloud-native technologies
- Knowledge of security, fraud prevention, and anomaly detection
