Hanover Park is building an AI-native ERP system for private markets infrastructure, serving over $40 billion in assets under administration. The company has grown rapidly with backing from Emergence Capital, Susa Ventures, and Lux Capital.
You will be the founding infrastructure leader, reporting directly to the CTO. This is not a role joining an established platform team—you'll write the playbook for production ownership at Hanover Park. Your mandate spans all infrastructure decisions: AWS, Supabase/Postgres databases, Vercel deployments, Trigger.dev job pipelines, and everything built on or around them.
Key responsibilities include:
- Set technical direction for infrastructure architecture as the company scales, including build-vs-buy and vendor decisions
- Establish on-call practices, SLOs/SLIs, and incident postmortem culture from scratch, then own uptime and incident response
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure across Vercel and AWS
- Design, provision, and manage AWS infrastructure; set best practices other engineers follow
- Own Supabase/Postgres infrastructure: performance tuning, backups, migrations, and scaling
- Build and maintain background job and workflow infrastructure on Trigger.dev
- Implement observability: logging, monitoring, alerting, and tracing
- Harden security practices: secrets management, access control, compliance readiness
- Write and ship application code when the right fix is a product fix, not just infrastructure
- Mentor engineers on production best practices as the team grows
Tech stack: AWS, Supabase (Postgres), Vercel, Trigger.dev, TypeScript.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years running production infrastructure at scale (SRE, platform engineer, or DevOps title)
- Track record designing infrastructure architecture from the ground up, not just operating within existing ones
- Experience as the senior-most infrastructure voice at a scaling startup: setting standards, being the escalation point, living with consequences of architecture decisions
- Production experience owning Postgres at scale
- Genuine software engineering ability: can read, write, and debug application code, not just configs and scripts
- History of establishing incident response practices and SLOs/SLIs where none existed before
- Bias toward automating toil rather than repeating manual fixes
Nice to have:
- Direct experience with Vercel or Supabase
- Experience with Trigger.dev or similar workflow/queue orchestration tools
- Founding or senior-most infrastructure hire experience at early-stage startups
- Experience mentoring engineers or building out infrastructure/platform functions as a company scales
- Background in financial services or regulated, security-sensitive industries
- Exposure to compliance frameworks like SOC 2
