Rivian is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to own the high-voltage battery pack internal power distribution and control hardware through the complete development lifecycle. This role bridges engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and finance to deliver complex EV battery systems from concept through serial production. Key Responsibilities: Roadmap & Milestone Execution: Own battery pack development across all phases (POC, EVT, DVT, PVT, Serial Production). Manage program gates, track deliverables, and align design, development, procurement, and validation schedules using tools like Vizzlo, Jira, and Smartsheet. Define checkpoint deliverables and resource plans to hit milestone targets. Cross-Functional Engineering Leadership: Orchestrate alignment across Engineering (Cell, ESS, BMS, Test & Validation, Design), Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Vehicle Integration, and Finance. Coordinate mechanical, thermal, electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure design requirements are defined and executed. Support pack/module layout design and manage Design Release Engineers to ensure production release plans are executed. Maintain all engineering documentation (Requirements, DFMEAs, DVP&R, Functional Safety) aligned to milestones. Track issues and corrective actions in Jira, Confluence, and Enovia. Supply Chain & Vendor Management: Develop and manage relationships with pack component suppliers. Establish regular Product Development Team meetings to review progress and ensure vendors stay on track. Manage supplier deliverables, tooling maturation, and parts readiness for all build phases. Flow down component requirements to vendors and ensure part sourcing follows Rivian process timelines. Manage open issues lists with vendors and coordinate with Inventory Control and Launch for part readiness. Support supplier industrialization through factory audits and track manufacturing quality and supply capabilities. Ensure suppliers coordinate with Rivian engineers to achieve component salability (PPAP) per program milestones. Financial & Resource Stewardship: Define and track program KPIs (BOM cost, investment, mass/weight, volumetric energy density, manufacturability). Manage engineering budgets, equipment, facility usage, and test resources. Review resource allocation with stakeholders to secure necessary support. Process Governance & Risk Mitigation: Lead change control process to review, approve, and document design changes. Identify risks early (NUDDs) and maintain comprehensive open-issues lists. Implement corrective actions (8D, 5-Why) and escalate critical paths to leadership. Host daily standups to resolve tactical issues and ensure immediate impact mitigation. Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field. Experience: 3+ years in battery/EV/energy product development AND 3+ years in technical program management. Demonstrated program management experience delivering complex hardware programs from development through mass production. Automotive experience highly preferred; consumer device experience acceptable. Technical Skills: Familiarity with high-voltage integration and high-volume manufacturing (HVM). Proficiency in program management and tracking tools (Jira, Confluence, Jama/Flow, Smartsheet, MS Project). Advanced expertise in PLM and design software (ENOVIA and 3DEXPERIENCE/CATIA V6). Deep knowledge of quality and engineering frameworks (DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP/PPAP, ISO 26262 Functional Safety, 8D Problem Solving). Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to communicate complex technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders. Strong quantitative and analytical skills for data-driven decision-making. Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-urgency environment with personal ownership. Passion for electric vehicles and sustainable energy solutions.
