ServiceNow's Access Security team (part of the Veza Identity solution) is building an intelligence layer to help enterprises answer a critical security question: who and what can access critical resources. The team transforms complex identity and access data into actionable insights, enabling customers to uncover risky access, prioritize remediation, and reduce exposure before incidents occur. You will architect, design, develop, optimize, and maintain Access Security features that leverage AI to improve access intelligence, risk detection, and remediation workflows. Working across cross-functional teams, you'll build secure, scalable backend services and AI-assisted workflows designed for reliable operation in enterprise environments. Key responsibilities include: - Partner with product, design, and engineering leaders to craft solutions balancing innovation, performance, and business impact - Champion responsible use of LLM frameworks, AI agents, and AI-driven access intelligence for identity and access use cases - Explore emerging technologies and patterns in identity and access management to deliver greater customer value while improving resilience, scalability, and performance - Participate in all technical aspects of team deliverables: architecture, design, quality, performance, maintainability, and code reviews - Integrate automated testing into development workflows to ensure consistent quality across releases - Mentor and guide other engineers by sharing best practices, raising quality standards, and fostering continuous improvement in testing, reliability, and production readiness - Own end-to-end feature delivery from early design and architecture through release, operational oversight, and ongoing stability Context: Veza, founded in 2020 and acquired by ServiceNow in March 2026, is a pioneer in identity security. The Access Graph platform maps entire identity ecosystems across users, groups, roles, policies, permissions, and resources—providing visibility and control over human, non-human, and agentic identities. The combination of Veza's AI-native Access Graph with ServiceNow's AI Control Tower and agentic workflows enables organizations to enforce end-to-end identity security rooted in least-privilege principles. Requirements: - Applied AI experience: Practical experience integrating AI, ML, or LLM capabilities into production workflows (decision support, risk analysis, automation, security-focused access intelligence) - 10+ years in backend software development with deep technical hands-on experience building complex enterprise production software - Strong proficiency in Golang and other key programming languages (Python or Java); strong architectural vision - Expertise designing and implementing RESTful, GraphQL, and gRPC APIs; strong proficiency in data modeling, SQL, relational databases (PostgreSQL), and graph technologies (Neo4j) - Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance optimization - Proven track record leading major cross-functional technical projects from conception to launch - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred qualifications: - Prior experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM), IGA, and PAM solutions - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) - Hands-on familiarity with cutting-edge LLM frameworks and provider libraries (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) - Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipeline integration - Strong sense of ownership and customer focus; passion for user experience and staying current with emerging technologies
