Veza (now part of ServiceNow) is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead the Non-Human Identity (NHI) and Agent Security team. This is a high-impact leadership role at the center of the engineering organization, combining engineering leadership with deep technical partnership. You will lead skilled engineers and tech leads while setting the technical vision for NHI and Agent Security—the core team driving visibility and governance of non-human and agentic identities. The role spans three key dimensions: Technical Leadership: Own the technical vision and roadmap for the NHI and Agent Security team. Drive architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices for enterprise systems. Partner with tech leads and senior engineers on high-impact technical decisions, conducting design and code reviews. Identify and champion new technologies, including AI/ML, to advance product development. Ensure the product maintains high performance, reliability, and observability with proper logging, monitoring, and compliance. Define detailed engineering execution plans and timelines that keep the team shipping with quality and predictability. Shape the long-term agent identity security roadmap alongside the Product team and help define industry standards for discovering agents, auditing agent actions, securing runtime authorization, and ensuring least privilege access management. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Integrations, Platform, and Graph teams to achieve business objectives and build products that meet customer needs. Partner with other ServiceNow teams to drive next-generation identity governance. People Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend software engineers and tech leads. Build individual development plans and create stretch opportunities. Own the full talent lifecycle—hiring, onboarding, retention, and performance management. Veza's Access Graph platform maps an organization's entire identity ecosystem across users, groups, roles, policies, permissions, and resources, providing deep visibility and control over human, non-human, and agentic identities across SaaS, cloud, on-premises, and custom applications. With over 30 billion access permissions under management, global enterprises including Blackstone, Expedia, and Wynn Resorts trust Veza for privileged access monitoring, non-human identity security, access entitlement management, and next-generation identity governance. Founded in 2020, Veza was acquired by ServiceNow in March 2026, combining Veza's AI-native Access Graph with ServiceNow's AI Control Tower and agentic workflows. Requirements: - 10+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong focus on distributed systems or identity security, plus 4+ years in an engineering leadership role (ideally spanning both startup and enterprise SaaS environments) - Experience integrating AI/ML models into product workflows or leveraging AI to enhance product experience and system intelligence at scale (strongly preferred) - Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and frameworks, with a track record of driving AI adoption and leveraging AI-driven tools to enhance team productivity and engineering efficiency - Familiarity with IGA (Identity Governance and Administration) or how traditional systems are evolving with agents - Deep familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), distributed systems, and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes - Experience with authentication, authorization protocols, and IAM concepts—understanding how identity and access relationships are structured across complex enterprise environments - Hands-on engineering background with proficiency in one or more of Go, Java, or Python; comfortable diving into the codebase and engaging at technical depth appropriate for a player-coach role - Demonstrated ability to lead and grow a fully distributed, high-performing engineering team (hiring, onboarding, mentoring, retaining strong engineers and tech leads) - Strong organizational and project management skills—able to run multiple workstreams, maintain engineering cadence, and keep delivery on track without micromanaging - Clear, proactive communicator who can translate complex technical concepts for both engineering teams and senior leadership - Relentlessly high standards; never satisfied with the status quo - Ability to dive deep without losing sight of the big picture - Low ego, high intellectual curiosity; ability to hire people smarter than you and create conditions for them to do their best work
