Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations to harness IoT data for actionable insights across physical operations including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing. The company is building an agentic platform that understands operational context and takes autonomous action.
The External Platform EMEA team owns critical capabilities for this transition, with work spanning reporting and intelligence, enterprise administration, developer and agent platforms, and business-critical infrastructure like billing and usage metering.
In this role, you will lead technical discussions with teammates to identify gaps in the telematics data platform and influence roadmap direction. You'll collaborate with other engineering teams on design decisions and understand downstream implications to ensure seamless customer experience. You'll ship full-stack features across multiple tiers (front-end, back-end, mobile) using technologies including GoLang, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and React Native. You'll maintain production systems your team owns and provide operational support. You'll make an impact on core architecture, roadmap, and the wider engineering community. Critically, you will hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, high-performing team while championing Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team).
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience designing and building products in software engineering teams
- Proven experience leading the design, development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of highly scalable, distributed software systems
- Proven experience building, deploying, and maintaining Machine Learning-powered products
- Experience mentoring and supporting engineers and role modeling engineering practices within a technical lead capacity
- Experience taking end-to-end ownership of product, feature designs, development and delivery of large-scale, long-running projects
- Proactive growth mindset, always looking to improve the status quo
- B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline
