Salary: USD 125,000 - 200,000 / annual
Lively is a fintech company modernizing employee benefits, with a focus on Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and related financial products. The company operates as a remote-first organization headquartered in San Francisco, serving employers, consumers, and financial institutions.
You will join as a Senior Front-End Software Engineer focused on building and enhancing investment and financial products for an expanding user base. The role emphasizes creating engaging, user-centric product experiences while maintaining the security and reliability that customers expect when entrusting Lively with financial data, fund transfers, balance tracking, and healthcare decision support.
The tech stack includes modern web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React on the front-end; Node.js and TypeScript for backend services; PostgreSQL for data; and AWS infrastructure (Lambda, Kinesis). While the focus is front-end development, you will contribute across the full stack—from UI implementation to API development, financial institution integrations, and infrastructure work.
Key responsibilities include analyzing and providing feedback on product requirements, implementing features with clean and maintainable code, ensuring software quality through testing and automated unit tests, and troubleshooting production issues with recommendations for improvement.

**Requirements:**
- 5+ years of software development experience with strong front-end background
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Strong experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and React
- Experience with Storybook
- Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Proven experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance web applications
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
- Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive approach to challenges
- Proven experience building frontend services with high availability and scalability requirements
- Ability to model and design intuitive, scalable schemas
- Experience with agile/scrum methodologies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Passion for technology and continuous learning mindset
- Motivated to leverage new AI tools and technologies
- Familiarity with AWS cloud platforms and DevOps practices (preferred)
