RecargaPay is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable systems supporting financial services. You will play a critical role in a fast-paced, growing fintech company, driving innovation through secure, reliable, and cutting-edge solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
You will write well-designed, testable, efficient code following best software development practices. Responsibilities include contributing across all phases of the development lifecycle, investigating alternative technologies and presenting them for architectural review, proposing technical implementations that solve scaling and performance problems, managing version control with GitHub and CI/CD automation, and creating/maintaining software documentation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering Chapters, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Mobile Engineering.

You will mentor peers, share knowledge, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence. Industry-specific knowledge is highly valued: practical familiarity with financial domains such as credit cards, lending, payments, open finance, fraud prevention, merchant acquiring, or investment services. Experience delivering solutions like loan-origination engines with real-time decisioning, scalable payment-processing platforms integrated with core banking systems, secure open-finance interfaces compliant with regulations, automated fraud-detection pipelines, or financial reporting and reconciliation engines is a strong asset. The ability to translate complex compliance mandates (KYC/AML, PCI-DSS, GDPR) into resilient, high-performance systems is considered valuable.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Academic background in computer science, engineering, or software development
- Hands-on experience in engineering roles
- Experience with medium-complexity domains
- Solid understanding of web application architecture including security, session management, and best practices
- Knowledge of relational database systems and Object-Oriented Programming
- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design; Microservice Architecture is a plus
- Ability to work and thrive in fast-paced environments, learning rapidly and mastering diverse web technologies
- Proven ability to design complex distributed applications for high performance, throughput, scalability, and reliability
- Development experience with Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and AWS
- Experience with asynchronous programming
- Demonstrated experience profiling and performance tuning Java applications, and using monitoring tools for production application monitoring
- Practical experience applying AI frameworks in development projects
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to mentor peers and contribute to technical excellence
