ServiceNow (via its Veza acquisition, closed March 2026) is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the Access Review feature within Veza's IAM platform. You will work closely with product managers, UX designers, and security experts to build scalable, robust backend services and APIs that address evolving customer needs in identity and access management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend services and APIs for the IAM platform
- Lead development and maintenance of the Access Review feature, a cutting-edge addition to the platform
- Build and manage identity lifecycle management features, including user provisioning, de-provisioning, and access control policies
- Implement logging, monitoring, and auditing functionality to ensure platform visibility and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to align features with business goals and security requirements
- Continuously enhance platform performance, security, and scalability through code reviews, testing, and refactoring
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in identity and access management
Veza's Access Graph platform maps organizations' entire identity ecosystems across users, groups, roles, policies, permissions, and resources, providing visibility and control over human, non-human, and agentic identities. The platform manages over 30 billion access permissions for global enterprises including Blackstone, Expedia, and Wynn Resorts.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of proven backend software development experience, with focus on identity and access management, security, or related areas
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming languages, particularly Golang and Java
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
- Solid understanding of authentication and authorization protocols, standards, and best practices
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and familiarity with IAM services
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), caching mechanisms, and distributed systems
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker and Kubernetes) is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
