As a Senior Software Engineer at OpenGov's Pune office, you will develop top-tier SaaS solutions that enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in government agencies. You will be a crucial member of the engineering team, leading and delivering new features and improvements in a fast-paced, agile environment using modern technologies including ReactJS, TypeScript, GraphQL, and NodeJS.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating across the organization to translate business priorities into shipped features that drive customer success
- Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented software following industry best practices
- Providing technical leadership and guidance to ensure development of resilient, scalable SaaS applications
- Working with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving complex technical issues
- Mentoring and guiding junior software engineers to foster continuous learning
- Contributing to OpenGov's engineering culture of innovation and quality
- Cultivating customer empathy to ensure solutions exceed expectations
- Driving continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and operational excellence
- Staying current with emerging technologies and advocating for adoption where appropriate

REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience developing highly scalable cloud-native applications
- Deep experience building applications on Azure or AWS using modern CI/CD and DevOps best practices
- Experience with observability tools like Grafana for performance monitoring
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, ReactJS, and NodeJS (MUST-HAVE)
- Proficiency with event-driven architecture, API integration, and GraphQL (MUST-HAVE)
- Experience working across the full stack (frontend + backend) and shipping features end-to-end
- Experience building with AI-driven UX, agents, and workflow automation (direct ML experience not required)
- Demonstrated experience working with customers to improve product experiences
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, ambiguous environments
