ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering Management to lead a talented engineering team in Hyderabad. This role focuses on building and scaling an AI-native engineering culture where the team leverages coding agents, AI developer tooling, and agentic workflows as core parts of the development process, not afterthoughts.
You will lead, mentor, and inspire engineers while fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and responsible AI adoption. Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day team activities, setting performance goals aligned with AI-augmented workflows, and ensuring project delivery within agreed timelines and quality standards.
You'll oversee software project planning, execution, and delivery while working closely with project managers, product owners, and cross-functional teams (product, UX/UI, QA) to ensure alignment with business objectives. A critical part of this role is staying ahead of industry trends in AI developer tooling—including coding agents, MCP-based toolchains, and agentic workflows—and guiding the team on best practices.
Quality assurance is paramount: you'll implement robust testing processes and coding standards that hold AI-generated and human-written code to the same high bar. As AI accelerates code generation, the human review standard rises rather than falls. You'll also communicate effectively with stakeholders and leadership, providing regular updates on status, challenges, and successes.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of proven experience in software development with a track record of successful project delivery
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in Java languages and technologies
- Demonstrated experience leading or working within AI-native/AI-augmented engineering teams, using coding agents and AI developer tooling as part of daily workflow
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience developing eCommerce software
- Experience building Cloud Native applications
- Domain-Based Services architecture knowledge
- Java 17+ / Spring expertise
- Experience working in global team settings
- CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote) space experience, especially in AI-native development environments
