Salary: USD 150,000 - 175,000 / annual
Arbor Energy is developing advanced power systems that deliver clean, reliable baseload electricity with zero operating emissions. At the core is a supercritical CO₂ turbine with integrated carbon capture, designed to bring carbon-neutral power online quickly at meaningful scale. The company combines aerospace engineers, combustion experts, and systems thinkers to build technology for emission-free power generation.
As Senior Mechanical Engineer (Gasification), you will take ownership of developing, testing, and optimizing novel biomass gasification systems, solids feed and removal systems, and feedstock pretreatment systems. You will enable reliable, high-efficiency conversion as the company scales from demonstration to pilot and beyond. As a core member of a small, hands-on gasification team, you will guide daily operations, execute testing, and lead design improvements to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performing systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Execute design, procurement, assembly, testing, and operation of high-pressure solids feed and removal hardware
- Contribute to 3D modeling, structural analysis, fabrication drawings, process flow diagrams (PFDs), fluid P&IDs, test plans, and procedures
- Find robust, cost-effective solutions to electro-mechanical, thermal, and fluid system design problems
- Manage large assembly BOMs and work across departments to deliver project results
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in combustion system design, analysis, and testing
