Included Health is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting to lead technical accounting and financial close operations for a high-growth healthcare company. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership as the company scales toward and through a potential IPO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee monthly allocations and software capitalization processes, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance
- Serve as primary reviewer during monthly close for trial balance and financial statements; book and review adjusting entries
- Act as internal subject matter expert on equity accounting, partnering with external vendors on 409A valuations, stock-based compensation, and deferred fulfillment
- Manage technical accounting for intangible assets, goodwill, leases, and fixed assets, including impairment analysis and standards compliance
- Manage intercompany transactions and eliminations across parent company and subsidiaries
- Lead transition and sunsetting of legacy systems from acquired entities into core accounting systems; support M&A due diligence and integration
- Partner with FP&A and business teams to prepare monthly and quarterly financial statement commentary, including Audit Committee materials and investor reporting
- Partner with Sr. Director of Tax on income tax data requests, state sales tax compliance, and business tax filings
- Serve as Workday system expert, supporting configuration, troubleshooting, and process improvements
- Assist with annual audit, including financial statement preparation and disclosure updates
- Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team; create career development opportunities as company scales
- Drive AI-powered process efficiencies and share best practices across the accounting function
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with FP&A, Tax, Legal, IT Systems, and Engineering
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role
- Big 4 experience and CPA strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in a public company environment, including IPO readiness and participation
- Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly with complex transactions such as mergers and acquisitions
- Experience with Workday, Looker, Microsoft Suite, GSuite, or other large ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to articulate complex issues to diverse audiences
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize competing projects, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
- High emotional intelligence; proven ability to build and maintain relationships at various levels
- Proven record of mentoring and developing talent
- Self-motivated, proactive, able to work independently with high integrity and professionalism
