MaintainX, now part of Autodesk Operations Solutions, is seeking a visionary AI leader to define and scale AI strategy across the organization. MaintainX is a mobile-first work execution platform used by 13,000+ customers including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL, and Volvo to reduce unplanned downtime and optimize operations across 13.9 million managed assets and 79.5 million completed work orders.
In this Director-level role, you will lead the design and execution of AI/ML initiatives across three core pillars:
**Work Intelligence**: Build conversational and agentic AI solutions that empower frontline teams to digitize operations, schedule work, manage inventory, and deliver actionable insights.
**Asset Intelligence**: Transform raw machine and sensor data into predictive models, prescriptive recommendations, and automated workflows to reduce downtime and labor costs. This encompasses OT/IT platform integration, ML platform development, full-stack product development, and handling diverse sensor modalities (tabular, vibration, image data).
**GTM Intelligence**: Develop AI-powered agents and internal products to accelerate revenue, service, and operations teams. Lead the evolution of Atlas, MaintainX's unified agentic data intelligence layer that connects internal knowledge with external signals through tools like Salesforce and Claude.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Define long-term AI product and platform vision with progressive milestones and KPIs
- Translate emerging AI/ML research (GenAI, anomaly detection, RUL prediction, multimodal fusion) into production-ready solutions
- Lead design and build of scalable agentic AI platforms including RAG systems, evaluation frameworks, and orchestration
- Build data ingestion, processing, and inference pipelines capable of scaling to millions of unstructured documents and videos
- Drive delivery of predictive models across sensor modalities, balancing time-to-market with reliability
- Build and scale a high-performing AI organization spanning platform, ML, and product teams
- Hire and develop technical leaders; establish a feedback-driven, high-performance culture
- Represent AI internally and externally as a thought leader to executives, customers, and industry stakeholders
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support
**Requirements:**
- 12+ years of experience in applied AI/ML
- 7+ years leading teams in high-growth, data-driven technology companies
- Proven success designing, building, and deploying predictive deep learning models into production at scale (ranking & recommendation systems, anomaly detection, forecasting, multimodal)
- Track record of organizational leadership: building AI/ML teams, hiring senior technical leaders, scaling organizations through growth
- Deep expertise in one or more of: multimodal ML (sensor, text, image, vibration), MLOps, or agentic AI frameworks
- Ability to operate at multiple altitudes: from architecture design reviews to C-suite strategic planning
- Comfortable in fast-moving environments; balance speed with reliability and long-term vision
- Strong communication skills; ability to influence across disciplines and inspire technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial mindset; thrive in ambiguity, bias for action, balance long-term vision with near-term execution
