Plus One Robotics is seeking a Solutions Architect to develop cutting-edge robotic solutions for logistics and e-commerce applications. This is a technical role requiring deep customer empathy and hands-on engineering expertise.
You will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of automation solutions: from initial ideation and design through customer communication and deployment. Key responsibilities include:
• Develop automation solutions that implement Plus One's product offerings in strategic logistics applications
• Manage solution ideation, design, and communication phases
• Collaborate with the internal sales team to identify and assess feasibility of potential applications, including on-site customer visits
• Participate in system-level design activities including layout, simulation development, and integration with customer systems
• Communicate functional requirements and proposed methods to internal teams and external partners
• Support pre-sales activities including proof-of-concept scoping, demonstrations, and technical Q&A with prospects
• Research current and emerging automation technologies and propose beneficial implementations
• Perform site surveys and gather technical information to create fully defined product configurations
• Contribute technical content to project proposals
• Design and optimize automated demonstration cells and systems
• Resolve technical problems and serve as the technical bridge between sales and engineering
• Provide mechanical consultation in client-facing meetings to identify installation issues
• Recommend accessories suited for Plus One products (lighting, compressors, etc.)
• Engineer site-specific fitment designs
• Work with installers to communicate product details from CAD models and address concerns regarding infeed/outfeed, reject paths, fencing, and system interfacing
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week, M-F, 9am-6pm) with intermittent overnight travel as needed to support sales activities. International travel will require a valid passport.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience creating systems architecture for automated equipment
• Proficiency with Solidworks + PDM, AutoCAD, Visual Components, or CAD manipulation
• Background in logistics/supply chain automation industry
• Business development or customer relations experience
• Ability to read and review mechanical, electrical, and system-level schematics
• System cost estimation and resource planning skills
• Equipment setup, configuration, and commissioning experience with industrial robots, peripherals, and safety devices
• Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, Six Sigma, or Agile
