Shift Technology builds AI agents that transform insurance operations. The company combines deep industry expertise with advanced data resources to deliver production-grade AI solutions trusted by hundreds of leading insurers. You will join a dedicated Agentic squad working in close collaboration with the US-based Data Science team. Your role is to serve as the software engineering backbone, ensuring AI models and recovery agents seamlessly integrate with external services and scale reliably in production. Key Responsibilities: - Build, optimize, and maintain robust integrations with third-party tools, vendor platforms, and recovery agents, handling complex API schemas and data ingestion pipelines - Design, test, and scale backend services and integrations to meet strict production stability, latency, and performance standards - Bring strong software engineering discipline, architecture design, and development frameworks to ensure long-term system stability and maintainability - Build end-to-end solutions, set up underlying microservices and infrastructure, and drive initial production launch and support - Support frontend/interface needs as necessary to ensure smooth end-to-end usability of agentic workflows The tech stack includes .NET Core (C#), Python, Cosmos DB, Azure Service Bus, RESTful APIs, and modern cloud infrastructure. Requirements: - At least 3 years of experience in backend software engineering with a focus on production-grade architecture - Hands-on experience designing, consuming, and scaling REST/gRPC APIs, handling schema definitions, and building reliable data ingestion/processing pipelines - Proven experience with Object-Oriented Programming, ideally C# / .NET Core and/or Python - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Azure (or equivalent cloud platforms) and modern microservice architecture - Strong mindset toward testing (unit, integration, load), CI/CD practices, and scalable software design
