LightSource is addressing supply chain inefficiency—a foundational economic problem currently managed through fragmented processes, spreadsheets, and email. The company is building solutions to modernize and streamline supply chain operations.
As a Tech Lead Manager, you will lead a team of senior engineers while maintaining hands-on individual contributor responsibilities. This is a dual-track role requiring both people leadership and technical execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Execution: Align work with business objectives and product goals. Build execution plans within resource constraints, drive delivery against objectives, manage risks, and resolve technical conflicts as they arise.
Technical Excellence: Provide direct, hands-on technical guidance to the team. Establish and enforce quality, security, and development standards. Assess technical output against KPIs and stay current with domain advancements to inform team practices.
Communication & Culture: Identify and escalate organizational risks. Maintain and elevate company culture across your team. Foster collaboration and transparency.
People & Organization: Create psychological safety and provide support and motivation. Conduct proactive check-ins to ensure strong performance and meet team member needs. Manage performance, set high standards with appropriate guardrails, and resolve interpersonal conflicts.
The team is small but ambitious, composed of experienced builders from Tesla, Waymo, Google, Meta, Amazon, Dropbox, Airbnb, and other high-impact companies. The culture emphasizes learning, excellence, and impact.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software development experience
- 3+ years of people management experience in a startup environment
- Demonstrated track record of successfully shipping products
