Maxima is an agentic AI platform for enterprise accounting, automating journal entries, transaction matching, reconciliations, and flux analysis to SOX standards while keeping humans in the approval loop. The company was founded by finance leaders from Rubrik, Twitter, and Netflix, has raised $41M from top-tier VCs, and is already in production at Scale AI, Rippling, Glean, and SpotOn.
You will join the Toronto engineering team as a general software engineer working across the full stack. The role is intentionally broad—you'll work on whatever the product needs, spanning frontend, backend, databases, and distributed systems. You'll have a real hand in defining the culture and charter of the Toronto office as it grows.
The engineering team includes staff-level talent from Robinhood, Glean, Google, Netflix, and Meta. The system handles high-volume financial data and complex accounting workflows where accuracy and reliability are non-negotiable—every execution directly impacts a customer's books.
You'll be based in the downtown Toronto office near Union Station and expected to be in-office four to five days per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years building product at high-growth companies
- Familiarity with web development, relational databases, and distributed systems
- Experience with TypeScript, React, Redux, or similar frameworks
- Deep care for culture and team dynamics
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with data pipelines, mission-critical systems (fintech), or complex workflow engines
