Glean is a Work AI platform that helps enterprises deploy, govern, and scale AI across their organizations. The company has evolved from enterprise search into a full-scale AI ecosystem with intelligent search, AI assistants, and scalable AI agents, serving 1,000+ employees across 50+ industries in 25+ countries.
You will lead and grow the Admin Console engineering team, owning the technical direction and architecture for one of Glean's most critical product surfaces. The Admin Console is the control plane where enterprise admins configure authentication, data sources, permissions, governance, search settings, AI features, and deployment health. As Glean evolves from search into an AI platform, this team's mission is expanding to help admins manage the broader context layer, including actions, live data, governance, and AI configuration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and growing the Admin Console engineering team with strong technical direction
- Owning architecture and execution for core admin workflows: data source setup, security configuration, deployment management, and feature rollout controls
- Partnering closely with Product and Design to simplify complex enterprise workflows and improve usability at scale
- Evolving the Admin Console from a data-setup-focused system into a broader control plane for enterprise context, actions, governance, and AI capability management
- Improving self-serve activation so admins can deploy faster with less support dependency
- Building visibility systems for crawl health, connector status, indexing progress, permissions, and rollout readiness
- Creating systems and workflows that help admins safely scale Glean across users, teams, and capabilities
- Collaborating deeply with backend, connector, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver unified admin experiences
This is a full-stack, high-impact role for an engineer who can guide architecture, mentor team members across frontend and backend, and drive product impact in a fast-moving environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience building production distributed systems or cloud-native applications
- BS/BA in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong coding skills in at least one of: Python, Go, Java, C++, JavaScript
- Product-minded approach: prioritize customer impact, clear SLAs/SLOs, and pragmatic iteration
- Ownership-driven with proactive attitude; comfortable leading projects or learning from experienced engineers
- Experience building enterprise SaaS, enterprise platform, admin console, or similarly configurable product experiences
- Experience working on products where usability, governance, permissions, and technical complexity all matter
- Experience mentoring engineers with different technical strengths, including frontend and backend team members
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and shape roadmap, architecture, and team execution in fast-moving environments
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and comfort partnering with product, design, security, and platform teams
