Mundi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development cycle of financial products using AI daily and as part of the core product, solving real business problems with high performance, reliability, and scale.
You will lead delivery of Working Capital team initiatives, ensuring operational excellence and product development aligned with business objectives. You'll elevate execution standards and technical quality across the engineering organization.
The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership with business acumen: demonstrating autonomy in taking initiatives alongside the business team, defining clear technical scopes, balancing tradeoffs, and communicating effectively. You'll design distributed and resilient architectures, robust APIs, and relational data models at scale, understanding the systemic impact of each change on data consistency, user experience, and performance.
AI is central to this role—you'll adopt it as a multiplier for daily work and to solve real problems, applying critical judgment and technical rigor to solutions, including automated testing for business scenarios, latency management, fallbacks, cost optimization, and observability.
The tech stack includes TypeScript/Node.js/React (Next.js or Vite), Python, PostgreSQL, event sourcing (KurrentDB/EventStore), Apache Pulsar messaging, and Temporal for transactional orchestration. Infrastructure runs on GCP with Kubernetes (GKE), Dapr for service communication, KrakenD API Gateway, and Istio. CI/CD uses GitHub Actions and ArgoCD; observability via SigNoz, Grafana, and Sentry. AI inference and pipelines leverage LiteLLM with OpenAI/Gemini models and data extraction tools.
You'll work with distributed teams across Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and the United States in a high-growth fintech environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years as a Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead, or Full Stack/Backend Senior building and maintaining transactional systems at scale in digital product environments (SaaS, Fintech, or startups)
- Demonstrated autonomy and end-to-end execution with business judgment
- Solid experience designing distributed, resilient architectures and relational data models at scale
- Strategic use of AI with critical judgment and technical rigor, including automated testing, latency/fallback/cost management, and observability
- Extreme ownership mentality with quality culture; ability to explain work and elevate it to the next level
- Nice-to-haves: fintech/credit/lending experience with transactional flows, balances, audit, and ledgering; high-growth startup experience; experience with distributed teams; infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and public cloud deployment (AWS/GCP) familiarity
