Applied Intuition is a $15B-valued AI company (founded 2017) building digital infrastructure for autonomous systems across automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining, and agriculture. Eighteen of the top 20 global automakers and the U.S. military trust their solutions.
The Mission Control team builds a tailored suite of command-and-control (C2) UIs enabling defense customers to interact with the autonomy stack. Users—warfighters, program managers, and test engineers—need a strong interface to test, understand, and operate autonomy in simulation and in the field. This is a "startup within a startup" with day-long iteration cycles, delivering autonomy tooling to the Defense industry.
In this role, you will:
- Design and implement a data-oriented frontend UI/UX platform, including 2D/3D graphics and visualizations of live agents in the world
- Work closely with the Design team to understand user workflows and develop a vision for Defense Tooling UI/UX
- Integrate your frontend implementation with an in-house simulator, data-transmission pipeline, autonomous systems, and other defense applications
- Build highly configurable, stable, and intuitive frontend platforms with principled architecture, clear roles and responsibilities, and strong test fixtures
The role focuses on frontend development for Defense applications including mission planning/debrief, command and control, and simulation tools, with emphasis on data-oriented design to support user interaction with live and simulated data.
Applied Intuition is an in-office company with the expectation that full-time employees work from their office 5 days a week, though occasional flexibility is recognized for morning meetings from home or family commitments. The company has offices in Sunnyvale (HQ), Washington D.C., San Diego, Ft. Walton Beach, Ann Arbor, London, Stuttgart, Munich, Stockholm, Bangalore, Seoul, and Tokyo.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Full-stack web development experience
- Interest in spatial reasoning and 2D/3D geographic map rendering problems
- Strong vision and good taste for intuitive user interfaces
- Hunger to learn and grow into a position of ownership and impact on a new product team
- U.S. citizenship (legally required) and eligibility to obtain a security clearance
NICE TO HAVE:
- Aptitude with spatial reasoning and 2D/3D geographic map rendering (WebGL, Cesium, GIS, etc.)
- Experience with React, TypeScript, or Angular
- Experience with real-time command and control interfaces for robotic systems
