The company tackles foundational problems in financial data ingestion, transformation, matching, projection, and reporting, combining data infrastructure, automation, workflows, and AI-first experiences. Numeric has strong product-market fit with customers including Anthropic, Brex, OpenAI, Plaid, and Wealthfront, and is backed by top-tier investors including IVP, Menlo Ventures, Founders Fund, and 8VC.
As a Software Engineer, Product at Numeric, you will own end-to-end execution of product initiatives while informing product strategy and direction. You'll work on multiple layers of the platform:
Data Platform: Build ingestion, metadata management, lineage, and transformation systems that support detailed financial analysis while maintaining traceability to sources. Develop the reporting experience where users can define highly-structured financial projections saved as reports integrated into workflows, with drill-down capability to transaction-level details. Create monitoring systems that help customers catch data issues at the source.
Core Automation Engines: Contribute to the accounting engine that automates manual work and reduces errors. Work on cash matching products that combine rules, statistical methods, and AI to resolve transaction streams and build the financial graph. Develop underlying tooling for simulation, projection, time travel, and related capabilities.
Workflow and AI Layers: Drive complex cyclical work with dependencies, communication, and workflow automations for month-end close and year-end audits. Collaborate on delightful user experiences that combine excellent design with nuanced AI workflows.
You'll learn the accounting domain deeply, meet users directly, and exercise substantial creativity and agency over product direction. The team operates with high pace and high integrity, emphasizing ownership of outcomes, quality execution, craft, and first-principles thinking. Engineers are responsible not just for code but for ensuring the product solves real user problems.
