As a Software Engineer on the Product team, you will work on inventing the future of finance and accounting. You'll collaborate with product teams that approach problems from first principles, break down complex challenges, and relentlessly seek the right solutions. The role emphasizes finding the right abstraction, learning complex domains, and combining high-quality work with ambition to tackle meaningful problems.
You will learn the accounting and finance domain, meet users directly, and exercise substantial creativity and agency over product direction. You'll work with a high-pace, high-integrity team that values collaboration and ownership. The engineering culture emphasizes owning outcomes (not just code, but ensuring products solve real user problems), executing consistently ("brick by brick"), caring deeply about craft, earning trust through quality work, and bringing fresh eyes to a stagnated domain (refusing "same as last year" thinking).
The role is in-person in New York City. Numeric seeks builders who thrive in high-trust environments with large mandates and who are equally engaged in both the technical craft and the mission.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience building software
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or Philosophy
- High motivation and agency
