Pendo's Mobile SDK team develops and maintains native SDKs for iOS and Android, along with integrations across React Native, Flutter, MAUI, and CMP. The product enables businesses to collect detailed analytics and visual session replays on user behavior within mobile applications without extensive coding. As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll work on a technically demanding, customer-visible product that directly impacts thousands of host applications.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and maintain new SDK features across iOS and Android platforms
- Dive deep into OS internals to optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compatibility across all supported devices and OS versions
- Contribute to SDK development across multiple mobile frameworks (Flutter, React Native, MAUI, CMP), ensuring compatibility and performance in each environment
- Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) as a core part of your workflow, applying strong engineering judgment and review rigor to AI-generated code before it ships
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable code with rigorous focus on quality, including unit tests, automated testing, and code reviews
- Provide technical support to international customers, troubleshooting issues and leading live conversations with adequate English proficiency
- Partner closely with product managers, designers, customer-facing teams, and other engineers to align on goals and deliver the best mobile experience
The role emphasizes being a builder who identifies gaps and shapes solutions independently. You're expected to understand host application context, anticipate failure modes, and maintain high quality standards because defects in the SDK can affect thousands of production applications. The team uses AI tools as a core multiplier, and you'll need to apply the same rigor to AI-generated code as hand-written code.
Pendo is a hybrid culture with in-office 3 days per week. The company was founded in 2013 by former product managers and is backed by Battery Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, Spark Capital, and Meritech.
