ROLLER is a fast-growing SaaS platform powering the leisure and attractions industry across 30+ countries. The company operates at significant scale—thousands of requests per second, powering over 100 million guest experiences annually—and solves complex real-world problems in ticketing, point of sale, self-service, memberships, kiosks, and digital waivers.
You'll join a small, self-managing London squad focused on localisation and fiscal compliance for European markets. The squad owns end-to-end responsibility for ensuring venues can trade legally and operate in their own language as ROLLER expands into new markets. Recent work includes fiscal compliance implementations for France, Germany, and Austria, plus AI-assisted translations across the platform.
In this role, you will:
**Build:** Design, build, and ship changes across backend services, APIs, and Angular interfaces that venues use daily. Develop patterns for regional rules and compliance that scale to new markets.
**Own Integrations:** Lead integration-heavy work with third-party providers (fiscal, certification, payments, tax, invoicing partners). Define contracts, handle edge cases, plan for failure, and work directly with providers to resolve issues.
**Own Production:** Collaborate with the SRE team to monitor system performance and proactively identify issues. Triage compliance alerts and fix root causes.
**Raise the Bar:** Share knowledge through code reviews, pairing, and feedback. Work with your PM to break vague regulatory requirements into small, shippable pieces.
The London squad reports to a London-based Tech Lead. HQ is in Australia, so most work with the wider team is asynchronous with live collaboration every week or two. You'll be comfortable owning your work, unblocking yourself, and staying connected independently.
Tech stack: Backend runs on C#, .NET, T-SQL, and AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SES, SQS). Frontend uses Angular with a custom design system and component library.
**Requirements:**
- Solid mid-level or senior experience building and shipping full-stack software in a SaaS product company
- Deep backend experience in C# and .NET, and sufficient Angular or TypeScript to work across the stack
- Deep knowledge of cloud patterns, application and database performance, with experience applying them to varying workflows and workloads
- Experience building integrations with third-party systems where details matter (payments, tax, invoicing, compliance, or similar)
- Ability to take vague requirements (e.g., new country tax rules) and turn them into shipped solutions
- Strong async work skills: write clearly, unblock yourself, don't require constant check-ins
- High appetite for technology and AI; comfortable using AI tools to automate repetitive work
**Bonus:** Experience with European fiscal rules, or fluency in French or German. You don't need to match every point.
