Arista Networks is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Platform team's Kernel software group in Dublin. You will work on Linux Kernel and BIOS software, responsible for keeping pace with the latest Linux Kernel developments and integrating them for internal use and as a base for Arista EOS. The role involves extending and developing new kernel features, working with the kernel community to get changes integrated upstream, and managing CPU subsystems across all Arista products.
Key responsibilities include evaluating new CPUs, collaborating with CPU and BIOS vendors to integrate their stacks into EOS, and overseeing bringup and qualification of components into hardware products. You will own projects from definition through deployment and customer interactions, ensuring quality across all deliverables. The role spans the full software development lifecycle: adding new features, debugging problems, and fine-tuning code for scalability and performance.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- 5+ years of experience with C or C++ and Python
- Hands-on experience with Linux Kernel software (preferred)
- Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems (preferred)
- Applied understanding of software engineering principles
- Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills
- Ability to design and implement solutions successfully
