Salary: USD 133,000 - 184,000 / annual

Chime is seeking a Software Engineer for the Infrastructure Platform team, responsible for managing user interaction with infrastructure system components including Terraform, ArgoCD, AWS resources, and internal tooling. The Infrastructure Engineering team supports Chime's customer-serving products through platform development, tools, and infrastructure. In this role, you will develop tools to create and maintain cloud infrastructure, automate management of complex service-oriented applications, and create frameworks ensuring stability and scalability of Chime's platform. Key responsibilities include: • Automating scaling, monitoring, and operations across the infrastructure • Building self-service tools within the team and across Chime engineering (using Ruby on Rails and Go Lang) • Designing, building, and supporting Chime's cloud infrastructure using automation and infrastructure-as-code, including maintaining Terraform modules • Developing tools and processes for security, scalability, and availability of customer-facing products, including managing Kubernetes Helm chart repositories and continuous deployments • Partnering with product development engineers to build services following modern design patterns (e.g., 12 Factor App methodology) • Building strong relationships with engineers, managers, and colleagues based on trust, empathy, and technical expertise Chime is a financial technology company (not a bank) focused on helping everyday Americans achieve financial progress through user-friendly tools and intuitive platforms. REQUIREMENTS: • More than 2 years of cloud and infrastructure experience • Strong development experience in Ruby on Rails and Go Lang • Previous professional experience in a DevOps/SRE/ProdEng role supporting customer-facing web services • Experience creating and working with containers, container orchestration tools, and managing Kubernetes Helm charts • Experience building and managing highly-available public cloud infrastructure and services with emphasis on stability, scalability, and security • Experience using configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools, including maintaining Terraform modules • Experience supporting relational or no-SQL databases, message buses, caching services, and other common service components • Familiarity with CI/CD and testing platforms, with focus on continuous deployments • Familiarity with common monitoring, logging, and observability platforms • Experience with AWS services, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Datadog, and Terraform • Proven success enabling effective partnerships and strong communication with other engineers and teams • Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and customer focus
