Platform Science is seeking a proactive and qualified Software Development Engineer in Test to contribute to the quality of our growing software products. You will develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts, integrating quality into our CI/CD pipeline while collaborating closely with development teams to ensure reliable, high-performance software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts using programming languages such as Python, Java, Kotlin, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go
- Integrate and enhance test automation within the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing
- Develop and execute automated tests across multiple application layers: unit tests, integration tests, API tests, and UI tests
- Collaborate effectively with software developers to understand code design and implementation, providing valuable feedback on testability
- Participate in code reviews to identify potential quality issues and ensure adherence to coding standards
- Create and maintain efficient test environments and manage test data effectively
- Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and partner with the development team to implement solutions
- Contribute to improvements in software development and testing processes and tools
- Advocate for and promote quality best practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Monitor and analyze key quality metrics (test coverage, defect trends) to identify improvement opportunities
- Stay current with relevant testing methodologies, tools, and technologies, sharing knowledge with the team
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies, providing valuable contributions on quality and testability
- Contribute to performance and security testing under guidance as needed
Requirements:
- Programming knowledge in at least one language (Python, Java, Go, or similar)
- Experience using and maintaining test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, PyTest)
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
- Continuous learning capability and interest in evolving in software testing principles and agile methodologies
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
Desirables:
- Experience with performance testing concepts (K6, JMeter)
- Exposure to security testing concepts
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience working in agile development environments
- Experience using AI tools in software development (Gemini, Windsurf, Claude, etc.)
