We are seeking a Software Engineer II (Backend) to join our growing engineering team and help build scalable software solutions across platform, data, and AI initiatives. This role focuses on developing reliable backend services, APIs, and integrations while contributing to modern software architecture and cloud-based applications.
In this position, you will design, develop, test, and maintain backend systems while improving performance, scalability, reliability, and security. You will work closely with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams, contributing to technical decisions, mentoring junior engineers, and helping deliver high-impact solutions that support evolving business needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications, backend services, APIs, and integrations
- Build and support microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, and containerized applications
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver business and technical requirements
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested code while participating in code reviews and technical design discussions
- Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and security while troubleshooting production issues
- Support cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices
- Contribute to platform, data, and AI-related initiatives while mentoring junior engineers and improving team engineering practices
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend development expertise
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Node.js
- Experience developing REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, microservices, or backend applications with solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns
- Hands-on experience with relational or NoSQL databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and modern deployment practices using Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging technologies, along with strong debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience building SaaS products or enterprise software
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), automation, or data platforms
- Experience with Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other DevOps tools
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or CloudWatch
- Knowledge of security, identity, role-based access control (RBAC), authentication, and authorization
- Experience in fintech, cybersecurity, healthcare, insurance, e-commerce, or other enterprise environments
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical projects, or working in Agile/Scrum teams
