Swap is building infrastructure for modern agentic commerce, connecting backend operations with AI-native storefront experiences. The company centralizes global operations for brands, powers intelligent workflows, and provides real-time data for margin-protecting decisions across cross-border, tax, returns, and demand planning use cases. As a Software Engineer II on the AI Enablement Team, you will own the design and delivery of internal tooling and infrastructure that enables safe, productive adoption of agentic workflows across the organization. Your core responsibilities include: - Building cost observability and usage-tracking systems for LLM and agent workloads, giving teams visibility into AI costs and opportunities to accelerate productivity. - Designing and shipping internal tools and guardrails that allow business and engineering teams to adopt agentic coding workflows safely and effectively. - Evaluating new AI tools, models, and vendors, synthesizing findings into clear build-vs-buy recommendations. - Writing and maintaining production-quality code with comprehensive automated tests for owned platforms and tools. - Conducting code reviews focused on correctness, readability, and maintainability. - Owning end-to-end project delivery from scoping through production rollout, spanning infrastructure, tooling, and process work. - Establishing and socializing best practices for AI usage across the business. This role sits at the intersection of developer experience, AI infrastructure, and internal tooling—you'll be solving problems that directly impact how the entire engineering organization works with AI. REQUIREMENTS: - 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, comfortable operating independently on unfamiliar codebases - Track record of owning and shipping mid-sized features or projects end to end - Experience building distributed data systems, feedback loops, and measuring work impact with metrics - Strong testing discipline and experience improving CI/CD or developer tooling - Problem-focused mindset; not tied to particular tech stacks or languages - Clear written and verbal communication skills - Bonus: experience with LLM/agentic tooling, AI cost observability, or internal developer platforms - Generalist with appetite for learning and growth
