Salary: CAD 101,000 - 151,000 / annual

The Upfunnel team builds pre-checkout experiences that help shoppers understand Affirm's value proposition on merchant sites. As a Software Engineer I, Frontend, you will contribute to building reliable, accessible, and performant frontend experiences across Affirm.js, promotional messaging, experimentation, and developer-facing frontend tooling. You'll work on high-traffic experiences that directly impact how customers discover and engage with Affirm's payment options. Key responsibilities include: - Building and improving frontend experiences across Affirm.js, promotional messaging, experimentation platforms, and developer-facing tooling - Collaborating proactively with your team and stakeholders, ensuring visibility and transparent communication about risks and trade-offs - Balancing speed and quality to meet business goals while maintaining system reliability - Using browser debugging, monitoring, metrics, and testing tools to maintain reliable cross-browser experiences - Contributing to operational issue resolution with your team - Engaging in growth and development activities to build team community The Engineering team at Affirm focuses on building reliable, performant, and scalable solutions across the entire business. You'll be part of a team that takes pride in craftsmanship and solving complex problems through exceptional engineering. Requirements: - Previous work or internship experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks (React, Vue, or similar) - Previous work or internship experience with JavaScript/TypeScript - Demonstrated ability to translate business scenarios into solutions that interact with multiple software components, with clear, well-tested, and extensible code - Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging others' code, and providing constructive code review feedback - Track record of taking ownership of your growth and proactively seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders - Strong verbal and written communication skills supporting effective collaboration with global engineering teams
