The External Platform EMEA team is building the next chapter: an agentic platform that understands operational context and takes action, with the ambition to make physical operations increasingly autonomous. Depending on the team, your work could include:
• Reporting and intelligence: Own the reporting engine and products that turn fleet complexity into actionable answers for customers.
• Enterprise administration: Build how customers configure and control Samsara at scale, from permissions and device metadata to AI-assisted onboarding.
• Developer and agent platform: Build APIs, event systems, integrations, and tools that give applications and AI agents access to operational data and actions.
• Business-critical infrastructure: Own billing, license assignment, and usage metering—systems central to how Samsara sells, delivers, and grows its products.
In this role, you will solve complex problems and own the success of your solutions as you architect, build, test, and deliver full-stack products. You'll communicate and collaborate with engineers, platform/infrastructure teams, product managers, designers, and support teams. You'll build skills across technologies such as Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and MySQL (prior experience with these is not required). You'll own the operational health of production systems as the company scales, make an impact on core architecture and roadmap, and champion Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as the company scales globally.
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience in software development
• Experience shipping features used by customers and iterating on customer feedback
• Strong communication skills and desire to collaborate
• Ability to explain technical decisions and be open to suggestions from other engineers and stakeholders
• Growth mindset and excitement around building new skills; quick learner who operates with minimum supervision
• Comfort with building end-to-end solutions
• Willingness to work across the full stack (front-end and back-end)
• Ability to assist in maintaining production systems and provide operational support when necessary
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Ideal candidates also have:
• Profound knowledge in full-stack software engineering, specifically building scalable applications for media processing and streaming
• Expertise in backend and frontend technologies for seamless, high-performance media applications
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and project collaboration
• Enthusiasm and commitment to innovating in fast-paced, dynamic team environments
