Salary: INR 3,050,000 - 4,350,000 / annual
Airbnb's Cities Team is chartered with driving sustainable global growth by developing software systems that enable Airbnb to work effectively with local governments worldwide. The team designs systems to flexibly model regulations across different jurisdictions, deploy them safely, and operationalize thousands of regulatory frameworks globally.
As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you will be responsible for building tools and systems to scale regulatory launches worldwide with a focus on supply growth and retention. You will design and build product and platform features to achieve business goals, help define and maintain a culture of craftsmanship and excellence, and represent the engineering team with global cross-functional partners across regulatory projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work closely with global cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Product, Policy, Legal) for product alignment, requirements gathering, and specification shaping
- Build features and platforms for high-scale and reliability, employing engineering best practices
- Foster a culture of craftsmanship emphasizing both successful delivery of business initiatives and commitment to quality
- Strategize and brainstorm opportunities with Product, Partnerships, and other cross-functional leaders; drive relevant metrics to measure initiative success
- Support 24x7 engineering operations to maintain high reliability services
You will be part of a highly collaborative global team with members in the US and India, working on systems that enable Airbnb's continued growth while advocating for fair regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of relevant engineering work experience
- Strong coding abilities and experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications
- Proficiency in one or more JVM-based languages (Java, Kotlin, Scala, etc.) preferred
- Familiarity with frontend web technologies (HTML, CSS, React, GraphQL, etc.)
- Experience architecting, building, and maintaining highly available services in a service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- Familiarity with patterns, libraries, and frameworks for building and testing services, and service-to-service communication
- Successfully partnering with Operations, Policy, Legal, and Product functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to structure complex, ambiguous problems, identify patterns, and propose data-driven solutions
- Self-driven with strong project management abilities
- Ability to drive end-to-end initiatives, aligning stakeholders, managing timelines, and proactively removing roadblocks for high-quality outcomes in fast-moving environments
