You'll own the full-stack engineering behind Gamma's growth and monetization systems. This role focuses on building and optimizing the experiences that convert visitors into users and users into paying customers—including new user onboarding, activation funnels, viral loops, credit systems, paywalls, pricing experiments, and upgrade flows. You'll work across the entire stack: frontend UX, backend logic, and analytics instrumentation. A core part of the job is running A/B tests and iterating rapidly based on data to move key metrics like sign-ups, activation rates, conversion, and retention. You'll partner closely with product, design, and data teams to translate business goals into technical implementations. The team values a balance between scrappy experimentation and deliberate execution—moving fast when trying new ideas but slowing down when handling money and payments. You'll be motivated by seeing growth and monetization metrics improve. The team has a strong in-office culture and works in person 4–5 days per week in San Francisco, with flexibility to work from home when focus is needed. REQUIREMENTS: - 3+ years building production web applications with strong full-stack fundamentals - Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js (or strong fundamentals in similar technologies) - Strong product and business sense with motivation to move growth and monetization metrics - Data-driven mindset with comfort using A/B testing, analytics, and interpreting metrics - Ability to move fast when experimenting but also slow and deliberately when dealing with credits and payments - Scrappy approach with comfort in ambiguity and iterative shipping - Experience with growth/monetization systems like onboarding, paywalls, referrals, or payment flows (nice to have)
