You will join as a Platform-focused Software Engineer, bridging software development and fleet orchestration. Your primary focus will be building the infrastructure that powers robotic deployments—both on-device and in the cloud. This role uniquely blends developer skills with platform operations experience to create tools, automation, and observability systems that ensure robotic deployments are scalable, secure, and reliable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and scale configuration management processes for the robotic fleet
- Automate complex infrastructure processes, including enterprise-scale AWS account management and deployments
- Design and maintain Over-the-Air (OTA) software deployment systems for seamless updates across robotic assets
- Support migration and management of enterprise-level authentication and authorization for internal and external applications
- Implement and enhance robotics observability tooling (e.g., Foxglove) to improve robot-to-cloud integration and monitoring
- Develop automated incident reporting and escalation tooling to proactively identify and resolve production issues
- Collaborate with product engineers to ensure the platform meets the needs of both the robotic fleet and interfacing applications
Tech Stack: Python, Terraform HCL, Node.js, Ansible; AWS, Docker, Kubernetes; OTA deployment systems, observability tools; enterprise AuthN/AuthZ; CI/CD via GitHub Actions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in production support, development, and DevOps practices
- Proficiency in managing cloud environments (AWS) and understanding of multi-account deployments
- Experience with or strong interest in remote robotics tooling (e.g., Foxglove, Rerun)
- Experience with enterprise authentication/authorization and secure identity management at scale
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex, distributed systems
- Ability to apply software development best practices (reusable code, automated testing) to platform engineering
