The Ecosystem team is a cross-functional group building platforms and integrations that connect Airwallex with the software customers rely on daily. The team owns strategic accounting integrations, marketplace solutions, payment plugins, open-banking integrations, and the infrastructure powering public APIs for third-party partners.
In this role, you will lead high-level design and long-term technical roadmap for the App Marketplace or Extension Framework. You'll design and implement core SDKs, webhooks, and UI-extension patterns enabling third-party developers to embed functionality directly into the Airwallex platform. You'll establish rigorous internal coding standards, observability patterns, and security protocols for the team. Additionally, you'll champion external developer needs by building world-class documentation infrastructure, sandboxes, and tooling.
You'll collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to ship secure, reliable experiences that simplify financial operations for businesses and unlock new use cases on the Airwallex platform. You'll contribute to the technical roadmap and provide input on emerging technologies and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience developing Internet applications, large financial systems, or e-commerce platforms
- Proficiency in coding/scripting languages (Java, Kotlin, C++, Python, etc.)
- Deep familiarity with standard library, idiomatic usage, and best practices of primary programming languages
- Direct experience building or maintaining a public-facing developer platform, app marketplace, or extension framework
Preferred:
- Deep expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) for managing complex business logic and microservice boundaries
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native tech stacks (Docker, Kubernetes, advanced observability tools)
- Experience integrating AI/LLM models to automate integration workflows or enhance developer tooling
